4 days of yoga, mindfulness and walking in the Scottish mountains staying in luxury accommodation with a hot tub and stunning views of the Glenlivet estate and Speyside. Fully catered in a newly refurbished historic cottage in Glenlivet in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. Vegetarian food. Immersion in nature. Our retreat offers you a very special immersion in the Scottish Wilderness that integrates a peaceful environment, yoga, mindfulness practices inside and outside, hill walking and home-cooked nourishing vegetarian food. Two yoga classes per day, guided walking in the Cairngorm National Park, accommodation and fully catered meals are included in the retreat price. Morning yoga classes will be a dynamic vinyasa flow practice and evening classes will focus more on restoration, relaxation and meditation. All abilities of practitioner are welcome, and practitioners will be supported at their level of practice. Guided walks will be on marked trails and forest roads, and a reasonable level of fitness is advised. In both the yoga and the walking, we will try to meet your needs.

Yoga led by Tamara Ashley, qualified yoga teacher (RYT-200), experienced walking leader, environmental dance artist and somatic practitioner.
Walking led by Simone Kenyon, experienced walking leader, environmental dance artist and somatic practitioner with deep knowledge of the Cairngorms and local area.
Food by Neil Callaghan, keen walker and dance artist with a passion for nutritious foods and fermentation.

Tamara Ashley and Simone Kenyon met when they were employed as dance artists on the same project. They have been collaborating for the past 14 years in a range of teaching and performance projects. They share interests in movement research, somatics/bodywork and hill walking. They are known for undertaking the entire 300 mile Pennine Way National Trail as a durational performance of one month long. They have also led eco-somatic and walking courses in Northumberland National Park, the Lake District and the Scottish Highlands. Their work emphasises finding ease, space and creativity in our inner and outer environments.

Simone is currently undertaking PhD research into Dance and Women who walk in the Cairngorm Mountains, and is researching the historical and ethnographic aspects of walking as well as being an active walker herself. Simone is also a Bodyweather practitioner and certified Feldenkrais Teacher, as well as being an avid storyteller and performer, who communicates an infectious warmth and passion as a teacher and facilitator.

Tamara is an ashtanga yoga practitioner, vinyasa flow teacher, environmental dance artist and somatic practitioner, who teaches at the University of Bedfordshire and for Camyoga. She also teaches Somatic Practices based on her own studies of Bartenieff Fundamentals, Body Mind Centering, Contact Improvisation and Yoga. She has 17 years of teaching experience in dance, somatic practices and body-based disciplines, which enables her to work with sensitivity to the needs of each student. Tamara has a quiet, nurturing, sensitive and contemplative approach.

Together, Simone and Tamara offer participants a unique opportunity to deepen their attention to mind, body and spirit in a nourishing and peaceful environment, breathe in the energising air of the mountains and relax deeply in nature.
