Stay with us in a 16th Century cottage for a very special Lake District yoga hiking break.  Nab Cottage is a traditional cottage, standing alone on the side of Rydal Water, in the centre of the English Lake District. The cottage was once the home of opium-smoking Thomas De Quincey, an acquaintance of the poets Coleridge and Wordsworth.  The situation is idyllic; surrounded by mountains in the heart of the valley, yet only 2 miles from Ambleside and Grasmere.

We have a wonderful converted barn for our yoga practice with a log burning fire, and our accommodation is steeped in history and has plenty of areas to find peace and solitude to read, contemplate or just enjoy the stunning views.  All meals are included from when you arrive to the time you leave, and are vegetarian.  All food is prepared for us by the owners of the cottage and is organic and fair trade where possible.

Yoga
The weekend will offer an opportunity to learn about yoga, improve and develop your practice.

The yoga will be suitable for beginners and those who have practised before. We have also included a session on Friday evening before dinner, and this session will be to unwind from your journey and get you in the mood for the weekend ahead. Yoga and hiking are a great combination, mobilising, energising yoga with some flow in the morning, followed by some more restorative and static yoga after our hiking.

Hiking
The location by Rydal Water is perfect for a variety of walks along the shores of Grasmere and for exploring the village itself.

March can be a lovely time to explore the Lake District as there is often snow on the mountain tops and the early daffodils are starting to show.  We can walk directly from the cottage and explore the local area, taking in Easedale Tarn, Grasmere, Louhgrigg terrace and Loughrigg tarn.  On Saturday we will be out hiking for approx 6hours and slighly less on Sunday.

Accommodation
All accommodation is offered on a twin share basis, most of the rooms have an ensuite bathroom, but a few rooms share a bathroom.  All rooms are comfortably furnished, with towels and tea and coffee making facilities.  There is also a hot tub in the gardens for us to use.

Price
£275 for twin-share ensuite room or £245 for a twin-share with shared bathroom

The price includes 5 yoga classes, 2 guided walks, 2 nights accommodation, all meals (2 dinners, 2 breakfasts, 2 packed lunches) and tea, coffee and homemade cake when we return from our hikes.
