Join experienced yoga teacher Jeff Phenix for an amazing yoga retreat in Ithaca, Greece in July 2022.  This will be a week of transformative yoga, meditation, sun, fun, great food and relaxation at the elegant and stunningly beautiful yoga retreat of Itha108.

A Greek island retreat set on Ithaca, one of the smallest Ionian islands and home to the legendary hero Odysseus – it is nestled amongst olive trees with breath taking far reaching views of neighbouring Kefalonia and the gorgeous Ionian Sea only minutes away.

Venue

Itha108 is a Greek island retreat set in a place of outstanding natural beauty, providing a space specifically for peace, relaxation and practice.

Ithaca, home of Itha108, is one of the smallest in the Ionian island constellation that is radiating with Grecian authenticity. It’s shores play host to a long Homeric and mythical history whose many mysteries are sensed amongst animated panorama and secretive coves. Itha108 overlooks the sea and the eastern coastline of neighbouring Kefalonia from an elevated wilderness of olive trees and exposed rocks that provide the elements around which it is built, allowing its natural beauty to speak for itself. An emphasis on indoor-outdoor living ensures full use of the land and its treasures that extend to sweeping and hidden beaches below.

Getting There

A free group transfer (return) is included in the cost of the retreat from Cephalonia airport to the venue.  The group transfer will meet the recommended flight below arriving at 1600 on Saturday 9 July 2022.

If you wish to get a different flight make sure it arrives earlier and wait at the airport or make your way back there to meet the minibus. The return transfer will depart the venue at 9am and get you back to the airport in plenty of time for the above return flight.

If you wish to make alternative travel arrangements you can make your own way to the venue but this will be at your own cost.  We can help you with these arrangements if required.

Arrival
Arrival at the villa from 1600 on Saturday 9 July before enjoying a welcome dinner with your fellow guests.  Each day the retreat will follow a similar schedule with one afternoon off yoga for a group boat trip and one evening out for a group dinner.

Between yoga sessions there will be plenty of time for fun and relaxation.  The venue offers lots of lovely relaxation spots, a well stocked library and board games or you can treat yourself to a massage.

The Yoga

The long morning practice will be a dynamic, creative, playful and explorative ‘deep slow flow’ asana practice and will include meditation and pranayama.  By emphasizing the breath, mindfulness & skillful action and building up through a range of appropriate options – students, from the less experienced to the more advanced, will discover how to work peacefully at the level appropriate to them.

The afternoon session will be a mellower, soothing and nurturing practice, delving into areas such as yin yoga, restoratives, pranayama, chakras, yoga nidra and meditation.  This will totally bliss you out!
We will finish in time to relax and maybe even indulge in a pre-dinner swim.

You will practice yoga outside on a shaded platform overlooking the sea.

Things To DoBetween yoga sessions there will be plenty of time for fun and relaxation.  The venue offers lots of lovely relaxation spots, a well stocked library and board games or you can treat yourself to a massage.

There are 4 beaches within a 5 – 10 minute way where kayaks and other watersports area available.  Boats, montain bikes, scooters and cars can be hired and tours of the historical sites of Holmers House and Odyssey’s Palace and birth place can be arranged..

We will have 1 afternoon off yoga during the week to allow for an optional  group boat trip or longer excursion.

Food Philosophy

Food at Itha108 is fresh, sumptuous and made up of local produce. All vegetables are organic and sourced from the best of what Ithaca and neighbouring Kefalonia has to offer.

Plentiful, home-cooked menus blend traditional Greek cuisine with a contemporary style. For the retreats, mainly vegetarian food is promoted, although freshly caught fish is available on request a couple of times a week.

Allergies and food intollerances (but not preferences) can be accommodated as long as you let us know in advance.

Jeff is a leading UK teacher, teaching at Triyoga branches across London.  He began his yoga journey in mid 90s, has been teaching since 2002, training teachers for the past 12 years and teaches regular UK and international retreats.
